As a Low Observable Aircraft Structural Maintenance Specialist, you’ll use your expert knowledge of chemistry and physics to advise on structural and low observable repair, modification, and corrosion protection treatment. This will involve applying Radar Absorbent Material pastes, polycarbonate transparencies, edge sealing compounds, adhesives, primers, or conductive films. You’ll also learn to mix multi-part adhesives, sealants, fillers, fairing materials, and organic topcoats, plus use metalworking equipment and tools to form, cut, bend, and fasten replacement or repair parts to damaged structures and components. It takes an intelligent and resourceful person to be successful in the highly specialized field of Low Observable Aircraft Structural Maintenance, but if you can excel in it, you’ll gain skills and knowledge that can take you anywhere in the world.
