Fire Protection

In your role as a Fire Protection Specialist in the Air National Guard, you could be fighting a forest fire in northern California, battling a hazardous material fire on an Air Force base overseas, or even controlling burning rocket fuel while in flight. Your mission will be to prevent the loss of life and property from fire. During technical school training, you will be taught, and subsequently receive, Red Cross certification in standard first aid and CPR. You will also learn the principles and operations of fighting fires in buildings, aircraft, hazardous materials, and wild land (forests, prairies, etc.). Fire Protection Specialists are critical members of the Air National Guard team and work to keep the Air Guard environment free of danger.
