Serve close to home, save lives around the world

Air Guard activities that don’t directly involve flight are typically encompassed by the Ground Support Mission. For example, jobs that involve building infrastructure, defusing explosives, or providing on-base security are all part of the Ground Support Mission. Despite what many people think, most of the jobs performed by Airmen are on the ground, within their local communities, rather than in the sky.
