Special Operations Aircraft Mission

The Special Operations Aircraft are designed to enter enemy territory, delivering airmen or resources wherever needed and conducting tactical airland, airdrop, information operations, and civil affairs broadcasts. Helicopter and mobility aircraft of various types and sizes are utilized and designed to support specific mission requirements, which include intelligence gathering, surveillance, reconnaissance, combat search and rescue, and information operations. These aircrafts' unique abilities also allow them to support humanitarian efforts during natural disasters and emergencies in this country and around the world.

EC-130J Commando Solo

EC-130J Commando Solo

The EC-130J Commando Solo is a specially modified, four-engine C-130 Hercules that conducts Military Information Support Operations (MISO) and civil affairs broadcasts in AM, FM, HF, TV and military communications bands. A typical mission consists of one aircraft hovering near a desired target audience, either military or civilian, to conduct operations. Additional missions include a host of tactical offload and air drop operations to ensure personnel and equipment are available and delivered where and when the need arises.

HH-60 Pave Hawk

HH-60 Pave Hawk

The HH-60 Pave Hawk is literally a lifesaver. Its primary mission is to enter hostile territory day or night to recover isolated personnel during war. It also has a critical peacetime mission to perform civil search and rescue, medical evacuation, disaster response, humanitarian assistance, NASA space flight support and rescue command and control.
