Homeland Defense Forces provide life-saving capabilities in the event of a national emergency as a result of natural or manmade disasters. Specialists, trained in identification, treatment, containment, decontamination of potential threats and search and rescue techniques, provide life saving capabilities to the local community and country during their greatest time of need. The Air National Guard's Homeland Defense Forces are there in the community ready to respond at a moments notice assisting state and local governments in protecting and safeguarding local communities.
