Aerospace Medicine Specialist

As an Air National Guard Aerospace Medicine Specialist, you're part of a unique team of trained health professionals — professionals working and training part time, getting ready to assist the Armed Forces in time of need. Aerospace medicine identifies and treats the unique physical problems that occur when pilots and crews spend many hours in flight, at high altitudes and under extreme pressure. You'll be performing annual training a few weeks a year or on a more prolonged basis if the need arises. You’ll develop and administer the Aerospace Medicine Program for your Air Guard unit. You’ll conduct medical examinations and provide medical care for aircrews and missile crews, regularly participate in flying missions to observe, advise on aeromedical issues, and establish procedures for managing casualties in aviation accidents and other disasters.
