Pharmacist

When you’re working with potentially dangerous drugs and medicines, precise action and attention to detail is key. As an Air National Guard Pharmacist, you're part of a unique team of trained health professionals — professionals working and training part time, getting ready to assist the Armed Forces in time of need. Performing annual training a few weeks a year or on a more prolonged basis if the need arises, you'll be screening prescriptions and doctor’s orders for accuracy, prevent overdoses, monitor drug interactions, and ensure therapeutic appropriateness. You’ll dispense medicines and prescription items, checking regimen and ensuring that the members of the Armed Forces receive the correct medicine and are counseled on the treatment of disease and any adverse side effects of medicines.
