At Volk Field, in Camp Douglas, Wisconsin, we focus on the Command and Control mission, which involves assisting ground force commanders in planning, requesting, coordinating and controlling close air operations, intelligence gathering and airlift. Additional missions include Weather and Individual Training, which provides Air Guard units the opportunity to train for operational readiness.
The 128th Air Control Squadron maintains a worldwide readiness deployment capability providing tactical air control, data links, and data transfer. Our mission is to maintain and operate a transportable extension of the Theater Air Control System. In this role, the unit provides an air picture via data links from multiple sensors to the theater commander; radar control for offensive and defensive air operations; early warning, and detection and tracking of surveillance data.
The Air National Guard Combat Readiness Training Center operates out of Volk Field. Located in Camp Douglas, Wisconsin, the mission of the Air National Guard Combat Readiness Training Center includes the Individual Training mission.
