176th Wing located at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. We provide worldwide strategic airlift, search and rescue with military airlift. A mission that delivers global air transportation of equipment and supplies during times of war and for peacetime training exercises. Additional missions include Search and Rescue, Special Operations Aircraft, Homeland Defense, Command and Control, and Pararescue.
The 176th Wing is based at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, with an additional detachment at Eielson Air Force Base. The 176th Wing is one of the largest and most active wings in the entire Air National Guard. We prepare Alaska Guardsmen for federal and state missions with Airlift, Air Defense, Personnel Recovery and Expeditionary Combat support. Supporting them are all the highly trained men and women in a wide variety of career fields, ensuring success of every mission.
