At Joint Base Andrews, our primary mission is the Fighter mission, which involves air-to-air and air-to-ground operations designed to support ground forces and to gain control of enemy airspace. Additional missions include Air Mobility and Weather.
The 113th Wing boasts some of the more diverse missions in the Air Guard. On a daily basis, the 201st Airlift Squadron’s passenger's include high-ranking military, government leadership, Congressional and White House delegations. Air Expeditionary Force operations and training, as well as 24/7 Air Sovereignty Alert operations, are carried out by the 121st Fighter Squadron and 113th Air Sovereignty Detachment. The fighter squadron also conducts air-to-air and air-to-ground combat operations.
