At Buckley Air Force Base, our primary mission is the Fighter mission, which involves air-to-air and air-to-ground operations designed to support ground forces and to gain control of enemy airspace. Additional missions include Civil Engineering, Air Mobility, Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Homeland Defense.
The 140th is a unique Wing, comprised of four groups, 11 squadrons, and three geographically separated units. The 140th Wing operates three missions that fall under four different commands: the F-16 mission operating under Air Combat Command, the C-21 mission operating under Air Mobility Command, the Space Warning mission operating under Space Command, and the 240th Civil Engineering Flight operating under the Pacific Air Forces. This very diverse wing has more than 1500 airmen assigned.
The 240th Civil Engineering Flight operates out of Buckley Air Force Base. Located in Aurora, Colorado, the mission of the 240th Civil Engineering Flight includes the Civil Engineering mission.
